Philippe Cotten: A Career of Expertise in Dentistry:
In the world of dentistry, every career begins with a first step. For me, this initial step was marked by my start as a general dental practitioner in 1994. With a mix of enthusiasm and apprehension, I embarked on this journey in a field where every smile matters.
Over the years, my path led me towards an unexpected specialization: implantology. Without comparable references to guide me, I had to pave my own way, relying on my instinct and determination. This led to the acquisition of my first practice in Paris, modest in size but rich in potential. In this cramped space, I began practicing alone, unassisted, but with a clear vision of my professional future.
Exploration, Revolution, Achievement:
My interest in surgery led me to explore new perspectives, challenging established practices. Inspired by other fields of surgery, I sought less invasive alternatives, more respectful of the patient and their well-being. My research led me to discover a new approach in implantology, proposed by a colleague in the south of France. Intrigued, I seized this opportunity, selling my first practice to join a new environment where I could cultivate my knowledge and skills.
In this new chapter of my career, I had the privilege of meeting my mentor, Gérard Scortecci. With him, I explored unsuspected horizons, sharing my experience and learning vast knowledge. Together, we pushed the boundaries of implantology, exploring less invasive and more ethical approaches. Our collaboration allowed me to achieve accomplishments I would never have dared to imagine: giving international lectures, writing publications, and sharing my expertise with a new generation of practitioners.

Today, I dedicate part of my time to training the future leaders of dental surgery, sharing with them the lessons I have learned throughout my journey. My goal is clear: to equip them with strong skills, prepare them to face the challenges of practice, and make informed decisions for their patients.
Beyond professional achievements, my career in implantology has also offered me a new perspective on life. By prioritizing non-invasive approaches, I have been able to reduce my working hours while improving outcomes for my patients. I firmly believe that everyone can find their path to success by committing to an ethical practice focused on patient well-being.
